What’s your name (or pen name)?
Fatima Munroe
What genre(s) do you write in?
Multiple
What genre(s) do you enjoy reading? Why?
Everything but sci-fi and non-fiction
Who is your favorite author?
I’m sure I don’t have enough space to pick just one. TOO many to name.
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one book, which book would you choose?
I’d need to be stranded with at least five: The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Ain’t I A Woman by Bell Hooks, and anything by Jahquel Jacobs.
If you could have a conversation with an author, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?
Can I make it two? Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison. Their contribution to Black culture during such an important time in history is both inspiring and amazing. I truly would love to hear Maya speak about her experience as a black woman participating in the movement (love her voice). Toni…what can I say about the embodiment of Black girl magic that hasn’t been said? True icons of our era.
I can’t speak on Black girl magic without mentioning Bell Hooks, Chimamanda Ngosi Adichie…lemme stop.
Describe your writing style in one sentence.
Soulful
Which one of your books is the most talked about?
I have two series that I still get regular inboxes about: Snow White and the Savage and In Love With A Trap God
Which one of your books would you like more people to read?
Damascus. A Thin Line Between Love and Toxic is a good one too.
