As I sit and type on my keyboard, I can’t help but reflect on my forty-four years of life. There have been some ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and lessons disguised as losses. It reminds me of the scripture James 1:2, which says to count it all joy and that the testing of my faith produces steadfastness. And now that my relationship with the Most High is stronger than ever, I finally understand.
Life isn’t supposed to be all sunshine and roses. If it were so, we wouldn’t grow into the masterpieces that God created us to be. Just like diamonds, we were designed to grow stronger when heat and pressure are applied.Â
Looking back, I’m grateful for the disappointment and opposition that I faced because it helped mold me into the fearless person I am today. The courage I gained from overcoming so many obstacles ushered me into my purpose. It allowed me to overcome my fears and share my thoughts with the world. And after three years of self-publishing, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
